NURSING MINIMUM DATA SET SYSTEMS:

Hi blogger I’m back today I have learned something about this kind of nursing minimum data set system and in fact the data that we can get from our patient that would be included in our nursing minimum data set system.

So this NMDS is a standardized approach that facilitates the abstraction of these minimum, common, essential core data elements to describe nursing practice from both paper and electronic records and it is also intended for use in all settings where nurses provide care, spanning

The NMDS includes categories or shall I say three categories which includes nursing care, patient or client demographic, and service elements.

This NMDS includes the elements, benefits, and 11 languages that have been recognized by ANA 2004 and two data sets.

The elements includes the environment, nursing care, and financial resources.

That would be the end of the topic in nursing minimum data set system.

As much as I have laerned adout this dependable systems is it is consist of this what we call attributes this attributes include System reliability wherein the system consistently behaves in the same way. Service availability required services are present and usable when they are needed. Confidentiality sensitive information is disclosed only to those authorized to see it.Data integrity data are not corrupted or destroyed.Responsiveness the system responds to user input within an expected and acceptable time period.Safety the system does not cause harm.

This has also include the guidelines for dependable systems that would include the first guidline which is ARCHITECT FOR DEPENDABILITY->

system architecture is that an enterprise system architecture should be developed from the bottom up so that no critical component is dependent on a component less trustworthy than itself.

GUIDELINE 2: ANTICIPATE FAILURES ->

minimizing  complexity is more easily said than done.

GUIDELINE 4: HIRE METICULOUS MANAGERS ->

Good system administrators meticulously monitor and manage system and network performance, using out-of-band tools that do not themselves affect performance.

Ok so the electronic health record is the set of components that form the mechanism by which patient records are created, used, stored, and retrieved. It includes people, data, rules and procedures, processing and storage devices.it is also a longitudinal collection of electronic health information for and about persons, where healthcare is provided to an individual.

Thus EHR icludes all the departments of the government to use this EHR in fact the federal government, different departments exert different influences toward common goal of and EHR for most Americans. Agencies providing direct healthcare offer evidence that the use of EHRs across a multi-facility enterprise is a realistic goal with measurable, repeatable positive outcomes.

The Health Level Seven it is an international, non-for-profit, volunteer standards organization known for its large body of work in the production of technical specifications for the transfer of healthcare data.

This day miss Aballe Reported about the health care data standards wherein Standards are critical components in the development and implementation of an electronic health record (HER). The effectiveness of this healthcare delivery is dependent on the ability of the clinicians to access critical health information when and where it is needed.

In this we know that we can apply this into healthcare system we can retrieve our medical information using this health care data standards.There have been great advances in the ability of the computers to process natural language, most communication between health information system relies on the use of structured vocabularies, code sets, and classification systems represent healthcare concepts.

IHE or integrating the healthcare enterprise Is an initiative that provide detailed framework for implementing standards and their implementation. Health care standards include the standardization of the data processess. Thanks that’s for today. J

What I have learned in chapter 12? Definitetly chapte 12 was all about the role of technology in the medication use process.

There are numerous steps in required in the care of the healthcare industry is an inherently error-prone process that is fraught with for mistakes to occur. The majorities of this technology acquisitions have consisted of basic stand-alone computer systems, which were primarily used for data input or increase each department’s efficiency with financial accountability measures.

These computers were generally installed in the pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory departments and could also be found in the administration and business offices.

Thats what Iv'e learned in chapter 12...

       What I have learn in this chapter 11. It ias all about the Health Care Policy yes a health care policy.. is established on local, state, and national levels to guide the implementation of solutions for the populations health needs. 

The number of informatics programs for nurses has significantly increased, preparing more informatics nurse specialists to practice in the field, and a number of trends and events have placed information technology (IT), information systems (IS), and informatics at a center of attention in healthcare. I had a fruitful realization on the way how Nursing informatics was defined before and now.

 NURSING INFORMATICS BEFORE AND NOW!!!!

Before: NI was defined as the combination of nursing information, and computer sciences to manage and process nursing data into information and knowledge for use in nursing practice.

Now: NI is described more broadly as a specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in nursing practice. NI facilitates the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision-making in roles and settings thru the use of information structures, information processes and IT.
